APRP belongs to the GrandTour Tire GT Group, who is the largest producer of tires in China. The company was formed in 1995 through a joint venture between Japan IRC and Singapore Primwell Co., Ltd. with capital of US$30,000,000. The company utilizes the latest equipment, including German-made 270 L Banbury mixers and Japanese-made calendars, and has established itself at the international level through Japan IRC and Primwell’s technological prowess in product development and its QS9000-based quality assurance system. The IRC and GT brand of tires and inner tubes are used by major Chinese motorcycle manufacturers, including partners and subsidiaries in mainland China for Honda and Suzuki as well as local manufacturer Chongqing Lifan, and are exported throughout the world, including Europe and the US, as a result of obtaining E-MARK certification and a DOT number. The production scale is the largest in the country, with ten million tires and eight million inner tubes being produced to date. |

June 20, 1995: The company is officially incorporated, securing 140,000 m2 of land at its present location. December 1996: Facilities are set up at the Anhui plant and trial production of M/C tires begins. March 18, 1997: MC tire No. 1 is completed at the IRC plant, and production begins. September 1997: Supply to Honda partner in Karei begins. September 1997: Production moves to the Anhui GrandTour Plant. 1998: Sale of replacement tires commences, utilizing the Anhui GrandTour domestic sales network. August 1998: Production of the GT Motor brand – developed in-house – begins. September 1999: Exports to South-east Asia commence. July 2000: Construction of phase one of new plant starts. March 2001: E-mark certification is obtained. Sales expand to European market. April 2001: 20,000 m2 building is completed at new plant. April 2002: Production of MC tires, MC inner tubes and TB /LT inner tubes commences at new plant. August 2002: Chinese CCC Mark is acquired. November 7, 2002: American DOT Mark is obtained. September 2003: Supply of tires to Honda partner in Sundiro for Japanese models starts. October 2003: Production of TB /LT rim bands begins. |
